Love and Israel
Collected Stories of an Enduring Romance

A Theatre Production by Sissy Block and Ilana Lipski

Love and Israel™ explores the human side of Israel through the eyes of different writers who have a personal relationship with the country. A series of funny, serious, sexy and soul-baring monologues are performed by an ensemble cast.

Love and Israel’s monologues examine such subjects as coming of age in Israel, Israel as a woman’s first love, falling in love with Israeli music, Israeli food and even Israeli cats, a New Yorker’s experience in the Israeli army, being in dialogue with Israel, separating from Israel and how to say goodbye.

This show is distinctly non-political. It doesn’t attempt to answer the question, “So when will there be peace in the Middle East?” Instead, it explores what’s it’s like to be attached to a country that is at times hard to love, and is certainly not the kind of place you can just love and leave.
